Drinking Beer can be Healthy for you.
You must have heard about red wine being good for health, but recent research suggests that beer has health benefits too. And, what’s more, women can benefit too from an occasional guzzle.

The Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University conducted research that revealed that an active ingredient in beer helps strengthen bone tissue by depositing calcium and other minerals into it. Beer contains an exceptionally good form of silicon too, and silicon promotes greater bone mineral density, according to this blog. Since women are more prone to osteoporosis, this finding will I am sure, prompt more women to take to beer.

Besides being good for the bones, beer stars in other health areas as well. According to another recent study, the antioxidants present in dark beer help prevent clogged arteries, which in turn curbs heart desease. Beer contains vitamin B6 which prevents the build up of homocysteine in the body, a chemical which increases the risk of heart disease.

Beer also helps reduce the risk of strokes, increase folate levels in the body, reduce age-related mental decline, increase metabolism, lowers insulin levels, and acts as a blood thinner. Quite an impressive list, wouldn’t you agree? Read this article for a complete list of beer’s benefits, and how you can use it in your cooking too.

Now for the big question. How much? Before you get ready to guzzle kegs of lager, remember that moderation is the key word here. I hate to burst the bubble but 1 glass for a woman, and 2 glasses for a man, suffice to help reap the health benefits of beer.

Cheers!
